Optical prescriptions and lab orders

Your customers' eye prescriptions and the lab's jobs in Desk, with a job sheet and a workflow, and lenses sold at the till only against a prescription in date.

What it does

An optical store's eye tests and lab jobs, and one rule at the till.

What it does

  • Prescription: spectacles or contact lenses, test date, Valid until, each eye's values, pupil distances, a lens fit, notes and a scan. Your optometrists write them; store staff read them.
  • Lab Order from a prescription, its values copied: Ordered, Sent to lab, Ready to collect, Collected, a job sheet to print, and Lab orders to chase.
  • At Pay, a line whose item or item group is marked Sold against a prescription is refused when the customer has no prescription of its kind in date.

How to set it up

  • Give your optometrists IVENDNEXT OPT Optometrist (the install makes it) and Sales User.
  • Make the app's user: tick Is Desk User, give it only IVENDNEXT OPT Integration; generate its API key. In Role Permissions Manager, give that role Read on Item Group and Item.
  • Make the record Default of IVENDNEXT OPT Settings (hours from UTC); mark your lens Item Groups.
  • In Retail Extension Subscription, open Prescription check: read what it is sent, consent, choose your optical POS Profiles, switch it on.
  • On the feed registration IVENDNEXT OPT Check, choose that user as Application User; then in the App library open Details, press Connect again.

Good to know

  • At each Pay the priced basket goes to optical-prescriptions.ivendnext.app (CitiXsys, US). It asks for the customer's prescriptions' kind and Valid until, never a lens value, and writes nothing. Its user can read prescriptions: health data.
  • No answer in time, or offline: the sale is paid, flagged. A Desk sale is not checked. One check of three, 10 s together, on a POS Profile.
  • To tell customers (glasses ready, eye test due), add your own Notification on Customer's e-mail: the app sends none. Never put a prescription on your walk-in customer.
