What it does
The customer's age checked at the scan of a restricted item, and held at Pay.
What it does
- An age on each Item Group, such as Alcohol 18 or Vapes 21 (it covers the groups below), or on one item.
- At the scan the till shows the date of birth to compare with the ID; Add with these details records 18 or over on the sale.
- At Pay a restricted line the sale's check does not cover is refused, even one picked from a list.
How to set it up
- Make the app's user: tick Is Desk User, give it only the role IVENDNEXT AGE Integration (the install makes it); generate its API key.
- In Role Permissions Manager, give that role a plain Read on Item Group and Item.
- Make the record Default of IVENDNEXT AGE Settings (hours from UTC, your look-under age); an Item Manager sets the ages on Item Groups.
- In Retail Extension Subscription, open Age check, add your restricted groups as item_groups; consent and switch on it and Age check at Pay for your POS Profiles.
- On the feed registration IVENDNEXT AGE Check, choose that user as Application User; then in the App library open Details, press Connect again.
Good to know
- At the scan of a restricted item (the item, its group, batch and code, the sale, store, till, cashier, customer) and at every Pay or refund (the priced sale and its details) data goes to age-restricted-sale-check.ivendnext.app, hosted by CitiXsys. It writes nothing.
- No date of birth or ID number is kept; a date typed in is no check. A sale is asked once per age; its first item may be asked twice.
- No answer in time, or offline: the item goes on and the sale is paid, flagged. A scan's refuse stops scanned items only.
- One app answers the scan per POS Profile: beside Till guard rules or Warranty capture, use Age check at Pay alone. No manager override or selling hours.
- Adds
- 1 new list · 1 new field on Item Group · 1 new field on Item · 1 sale detail · 1 event feed · 2 till extensions
- Used by
- Cashier, System Manager, Item Manager
- Licence
- Apache-2.0
