Till guard rules

Checks at the till, in one app: no line at a placeholder price such as 0.01, a most per line, the cashier or a manager for a large sale, and a question when a flagged item is scanned. Each rule is off until you set it.

What it does

Checks at Pay and at the scan, in one app. Each rule is off until you set it.

What it does

  • At Pay, a line priced at or below your placeholder price (such as 0.01), or holding more of one item than you allow, is refused. A free line never is.
  • A sale at or above your approval amount is checked: the cashier answers yes or no, or a manager who is not the cashier approves.
  • When an item you ticked is scanned, the till beeps and asks your question first.

How to set it up

  • Make the app's user: tick Is Desk User, give it the role IVENDNEXT TGR Integration alone (the install makes it) and save. Then generate its API key (on the user, Settings, Generate Keys).
  • On the feed registration IVENDNEXT TGR Guard, choose that user as its Application User and save. Then, in the App library, open the app's Details and press Connect again: it says it sent the user's API key.
  • In IVENDNEXT TGR Settings, make the record Default and set your rules (0 or blank is off). Tick Confirm at the till when scanned on each item to ask about.
  • In Retail Extension Subscription, open Till guard rules and Till guard: confirm item (installed off): read what each is sent, tick the consent, choose its stores, switch it on.
  • For a manager's approval: give managers May Approve a Partner's Check on their Retail Permission and write on Retail Override Request, choose approve, then tick May ask for a manager's approval on Till guard rules.

Good to know

  • At Pay the priced basket, and each ticked item's scanned line, go to till-guard.ivendnext.app, hosted by CitiXsys. It reads your settings with the app's user, writes nothing; a change applies within a minute.
  • A return is checked only for the items it sells, as in an exchange; the approval amount is the total the customer pays.
  • If the service does not answer, offline, or before Connect again sends the user's key, the sale goes on and is flagged for review, and a ticked item goes on without its question.
