What it does

Prescription, pharmacist and patient checks at the till's Pay and at each Desk submit, from rules your pharmacist keeps.

What it does

  • At Pay, a prescription line needs a prescription that is in date, for this patient, with enough left to dispense.
  • A controlled or prescription-only line is sold only by a pharmacist whose licence is in date; a controlled sale needs the patient's ID on their record.
  • Quantity and frequency caps per drug schedule, and returns of dispensed medicine only where the drug's schedule allows them.
  • The same rules when a sales order, delivery or invoice is submitted on the Desk; each dispensing is recorded against its prescription.

How to set it up

  • Your partner installs the app on your site and connects it to the service they host for you.
  • The pharmacist-in-charge enters each pharmacist (licence number, valid until) and the premises licence.
  • Make your drug schedules, set them on your medicine items, and enter each prescription before the sale.
  • Narrow each till service to its POS Profiles (the dispensary, then the front of the shop), then switch the services on: read what each is sent, and consent.

Good to know

  • At Pay the till sends the basket, the customer and the prescription number to your partner's service, which reads the patient's prescriptions and dispensing history with the app's own key and writes its Dispensing records. IDs and dates of birth never leave.
  • Keep the dispensary's POS Profile on Offline selling: Disabled. A POS Invoice made on the Desk POS screen is not checked.
