What it does
Refuse a members-only item for a customer who is not a member, at Pay.
What it does
- At Pay, a sale with a members-only item is refused for a customer who is not a member, in the check's own words.
- On a sale at or above your ID limit, the till asks the cashier a yes/no question.
- If the service does not answer, the sale is refused, so an outage never sells a members-only item.
How to set it up
- Add your rule in Desk, one IVENDNEXT RGD Rule record each: a members-only item or item group, a member customer group, or Ask for ID at or above an amount. With no member group, nobody is a member. Only a System Manager can, unless you give another role rights.
- Make the app's user: tick Is Desk User, give it the role IVENDNEXT RGD Integration alone (the install makes it) and save. Then generate its API key (on the user, Settings, then Generate Keys). Give it no User Permissions, or a rule naming a record outside them is not read.
- On the feed registration IVENDNEXT RGD Rule feed, choose that user as its Application User and save. Then, in the App library, open the app's Details and press Connect again: it says it sent that user's API key.
- Open Retail Extension Subscription, the check Member rule guard (installed switched off): read what it is sent, tick the consent, choose its stores and switch it on.
Good to know
- At Pay the priced basket goes to rule-guard.ivendnext.app, hosted by CitiXsys. It reads your rules with the app's user and writes nothing; a change applies within a minute.
- Only a line's own item group and a customer's own group count. A return is checked only for the members-only items it sells, as in an exchange; ID is asked on a sale only.
- Once the check is on, until Connect again sends the user's key, or if your shop refuses it, every sale is refused with a sentence that says why.
