Expiry markdown

Stock near its expiry date marked down by your own steps: one press on the Batch list gives each lot its own lower price until it expires, and the till rings it.

What it does

Markdowns on lots near their expiry date, by your own steps, from one press a day.

What it does

  • Up to two steps on each perishable Item Group, such as 25% off from 5 days before expiry and 50% off from 2 days.
  • Mark down on the Batch list: each ticked lot inside a step gets its own price on your selling price list, rounded down, until its expiry date.
  • A lot that reaches its last step is changed; one past its date, out of stock or outside every step has the markdown taken off. A price you typed for a lot is never changed.
  • The till rings a lot at its own price and prints its lot label; the cashier does nothing new.

How to set it up

  • Make the app's user: tick Is Desk User, give it only the role IVENDNEXT EXM Integration (the install makes it), no User Permissions; generate its API key.
  • In Role Permissions Manager, give that role Read on Batch, Item, Item Group, Price List and Currency, and Read, Write, Create and Delete on Item Price.
  • Make the record Default of IVENDNEXT EXM Settings (the price list your tills sell from, hours from UTC); set the steps on your Item Groups.
  • In Retail Extension Subscription, open Mark down service (installed off): read what it is sent, tick the consent, switch it on; then switch on Mark down in Retail Desk Action.
  • On the feed registration IVENDNEXT EXM Markdown feed, choose that user as Application User; then in the App library open Details, press Connect again.

Good to know

  • Each press sends the ticked lots' names, items and expiry dates to expiry-markdown.ivendnext.app (CitiXsys). It reads your settings, lots, items, groups and prices, writes lot prices, keeps nothing of a press.
  • The app's user reaches every price on every list: give its role to no one else. A Sales Master Manager sees the lot prices.
  • While any lot has its own price, tills do not sell lot items offline: restart them after the first press. A tile or scan may show another lot's price until the line is priced.
  • Steps only on groups whose every item may be sold below its price. No answer in time: some lots may be done; press again. Delete the app's prices before uninstalling.
